Before we get to the nonsense News Flash by Sean, is a very well, you know, strict (is that a good word to describe it?) by Mrs Tee. It had been sent through the GESS Portal. Anyways, here it is, please do scroll down for the post by Kathryna, with another message by Mrs Tee.

Dear 2E, 2F and 2G,

For this Saturday's performance of TITOUDAO, please gather at the National Library ground level entrance at 7.20pm. The National Library is located at Victoria Street, just a 5min walk from Bugis Junction, which sits above Bugis MRT station. There is a Han's cafe near the entrance of the National Library.

I thought that it would be a good opportunity for you to find out where this spanking new glass and steel building is, and the treasures that lie within. Please be punctual as we will need to take attendance and I'd like everyone to be given some time to explore the 13-storey building.

Please dress warmly and appropriately, and come with enthusiasm. Needless to say, I expect that you’ll be on your best behaviour!

When watching a play, basic etiquette/manners include:
• Avoid conversing loudly with your friend or fidgeting in your seat as this may be distracting for the actors
• Refrain from checking and sending SMSes as this may disturb other members of the audience
• Laugh when it’s appropriate to—you are not in your own private TV lounge
• There will be a 15 minute intermission, so wait until then to visit the washroom

You will need to write a review of the play, so please read the attachment to find out more! Hope we have a great time and see you on Saturday :)

Cheers,
Mrs. Tee LN

Okay, the post that I'm gonna post is rather random to appear here, as I want to try to constantly update the blog.

Anyways, here it is.
Avril Lavigne, yeah the ENGLISH pop/rock star has a new album "The Best Damn Thing" and her hit "Girlfriend". Try listening to it in English, and see if you like it, and drop a 'yes' or 'no' to make it the blog song. What tickled me is the CHINESE version of Girlfriend. And oh lord, it's real hilarious, with the "ang moh" accent. So here I am, sharing this silly made-chinese video. Well, at least Avril is learning Chinese, and what about you? :p

Click the above image to view the Chinese version of Avril Lavigne. Sean do not pay the responsibility if any human faint, roll on the floor and laughing so hard that he/she dies. And oh, the video is not posted by him. But Kudos to whoever who posted it!

* The above "newsflash" has nothing against Avril Lavigne, and neither her fans. It's purely a nerd/chidlish's boy thought.
** Continue scrolling down for a post done by Kathryna, and an important message by Mrs Tee, yes, Mrs Tee.

Hey, hey, you, you, 我不喜欢你的女朋友。No way, No way, 你需要一个新的。Hey, hey, you, you, 我可以不可以成你的女朋友?Hey, hey, you, you, 我知道你喜欢我。 No way, No way, 不是一个秘密。 Hey, hey, you, you, 我要当你的女朋友。

Love,
Seanyyyy.

Dear pupils of 2E, 2F and 2G,

For Saturday's performance of Titoudao, could we meet at the National Library ground level entrance at 7.20pm? For Your Information…

Toy Factory Theatre Ensemble's TITOUDAO gives a loving portrait of the Chinese wayang during the Singapore of yesteryear, an art-form that is declining in popularity.
“Titoudao” is the name of a comic role in Hokkien opera (literallyshaving knife/blade), a hardworking and loyal servant of a family that has seen better times.
TITOUDAO is about the once popular Hokkien opera of the same name, whose title character is the loyal servant to Ti Boon Long, a poor scholar during ancient China whose once prosperous family is now bankrupt. Initially rejected by his betrothed Teng Lay Kiao, Boon Long obtains money from Lay Kiao's benevolent step sister, Swee Lian, to travel to the capital for the imperial examination.
With the help of his loyal servant, Titoudao, Ti Boon Long's family fortunes and position in society are restored. Framing this staging of the opera is the process of staging TITOUDAO itself, as well as the real life story of Madam On Ah Chiam, who made the role of “Titoudao” famous, and succeeded in becoming a famous wayang artiste.

In director Goh Boon Teck's script, the scenes of this opera are interspersed with scenes from each stage of opera actress Oon Ah Chiam's life - growing up in kampong Singapore, joining an opera troupe, marrying, growing old, reminiscing…
TITOUDAO sparkles with clear ideas about the way of the world in Singapore about half a century ago. The play accurately portrays the nuances of the family structure of Singapore in the 1950s-60s, and the gender inequality of that time.

Did You Know?

Although some part of the show are in Hokkien, there will be clear English subtitles on the screens at the two sides of the stage.
It is a play that promises to tickle and to touch you.
You can get the Programme for $5 at the theatre foyer on the 3rd floor.
To read an interview about Mdm Oon Ah Chiam, whose life story as a famous opera star inspired this play, go to:

TASK!!!

During the play, take note of
1.Plot
2.Set
3.Costumes
4.Acting

You will need to write a review of the play in your Literature exercise book. You will need to discuss the 4 points listed above. You also need to write about

5.What you liked and disliked about the play,
6.What struck you as most memorable and
7.Anything you would change about the script/directing/ending.

(taken on the trip to Suntec for the career fair o7)

Okay, I know the blog is rather dead, so thanks to peeps who kept it alive by tagging on the tag board.

Homework List for March Holidays 2007.
1) English (Formal VS Informal Worksheet)
2) Chinese (http://cn.enjoyedu.com.sg for Online revising)
3) Science (Finish up what you had not done for the workbook)
4) Geography (Revise up the chapters)
5) Literature (Project, Project and Project)
6) History (complete crossword puzzle if not done, revise for test and Project No. 2)
7) Mathematics (www.heymath.net for Online revising)

I know it's a mouthful, and loads to be completed to those who were a little lazy in Term 1. Paper under my desk had been successfully filed up! :p

Okay, regarding EL day, we need crazy (really, really, crazy) ideas. Maybe we should put aside Totto Chan for awhile, and think a better story. Captain Underpants seems fun (anybody willing to be Captain Underpants!? *looks at Benjie* :giggles:).

With lotsa love;
Seanyyyy.
